Our grandparents ate better than our parents and better than us. That's crazy. Agricool turns this trend on its head: we'll eat better than them all! We want to grow tasty and pesticide free fruits and vegetables for everyone. For the moment, that means tasty and plump strawberries. Tomorrow, it will be a wide range of delicious fruits and vegetables. To achieve our goal, we?ve created a paradise for fruits and vegetables in recycled shipping containers. That means the best lighting, temperature, irrigation, and air quality. In just 35 m2 we can produce the same amount of food as 4000 m2 of traditional farmland. We do it with no pesticides, no transportation, and 100% renewable energy.

Bowery Farming

At Bowery Farming, we dream of a world where agriculture gives back to the people and the planet more than it takes. But to achieve this, we need more than incremental change. We need to reimagine farming from the ground up. Everyday, Bowery?s purpose-driven team works toward this mission. Right outside of cities, we build indoor farms that grow wildly flavorful produce that?s defiantly free from pollutants, all while using less finite resources like space and water. Our smart farms are powered by our proprietary farm operating system, BoweryOS, creating a simplified, agile food system that?s focused on flavor, freshness, and safety.


We started Farm.One in 2016 with the vision to grow rare, interesting, unusual produce for chefs, using the new technology of vertical farming. We began at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), in downtown Manhattan, with a small, experimental farm that served a limited number of top restaurants. At the time, vertical farming was still a crazy idea - no one was very sure it would work! Four years later, this journey has led us to work with amazing chefs producing some of the best food in the world. We have built a larger farm in TriBeCa that has also shown us the power of small farms in cities, and the joy of educating and delighting visitors with information, flavors and community. We're now building more farms in New York and across the world.

Freight Farms

Founded in 2010 in Boston, Freight Farms patented technology gives organizations the opportunity to participate in the fast-growing local food market, projected to reach $20 billion dollars by the end of 2020. Currently, traditional farms and warehouse plant ?factories? cannot meet the demand for local food. These businesses rely on complex, multi-stage supply chains that are slow to pivot, heavily dependent on land and infrastructure, and competing on price on the retail shelf. Contrastingly, Freight Farms modular farming solution is agile and requires minimal infrastructure to implement and scale. Freight Farms has over 250 farms operating globally. Adoption of Freight Farms technology in university and corporate segments has grown every year, creating a compelling collection of use-cases. With this traction, Freight Farms is poised to become the de facto provider for on-site food production, a position that will only become more valuable as the demand for local food continues to grow.

Our vertical farms use 99% less water than conventional fields, are pesticide-free, and produce zero fertilizer runoff. And since our farms are local, we cut thousands of miles out of the supply chain, reducing tons of emissions. Fortunately, the most powerful trends occurring in technology today create the opportunity to address agriculture?s biggest challenges. The amalgamation of crop science, artificial intelligence, big data and the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), coupled with falling energy prices and the availability of increasingly efficient LED lighting create the opportunity to completely overhaul how the world grows produce.
